Terrain is now available in new GNS430/530’s
All
GPS500, GNS530, GPS400, GNC 420, and GNS 430 shipped beginning September 22,
2005 have noncertified terrain advisory feature
software included. Each unit will be shipped with two data cards. One data card
is the Jeppesen data that has always been shipped
with each unit. The second card, (GPN # 010-10201-20) which must be inserted
into the number two data card slot contains the Terrain data base and the base
map for
the unit.
Earlier software versions of these models had the base map data stored
internally. With the base map data now on the card it must be inserted in order
to have any hydrographic and geographic data on the map pages, in addition to
displaying terrain features.
Terrain Upgrade Kits
The
non-certified terrain advisory feature has been approved by the FAA for field
installation.
