Advanced GNS 430/530 and Avionics Systems Workshop

8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Brandywine Airport, West Chester, PA

Learn more about the avionics systems in your airplane!

If you have a GNS 430 and/or GNS 530 installed in your panel, then chances are you also have an HSI/Sandel and an autopilot/flight director.  If you want to enhance your GNS 430/530 knowledge and learn more about your aircraft's systems, then this course is for you!

In the morning session, we'll discuss aircraft systems, failure modes, and answer questions such as:

In the afternoon, you'll put your problem solving skills to work as you encounter difficult and unusual IFR scenarios during the GNS 430/530 hands-on lab sessions using actual units!  Some examples of the lab exercises are:

  • You'll "fly" an arrival from a NoPT arrival sector (three different types!)
  • You'll "fly a missed approach procedure with "course from fix" legs
  • You'll "fly" an alternate missed approach procedure
  • You'll "fly" a variety of "interesting" GPS approaches and departures and arrivals

In addition, you'll learn how your autopilot behaves when flying a precision and non-precision approach with the GNS 430/530.

Comments from previous course participants:
